Small, careful apps for iPhone and Mac.

I'm Alan. The Bolder Things Company is me, one app at a time. I build the kind of app I want on my own phone: it does one thing, costs money once, and never asks who you are.

Who's behind this

One person. I write the code, draw the icons, answer the email, and pay for the coffee. There is no team, no investors, and no growth target.

I make the apps I want to use myself. That keeps the list short and the features honest, because I am the first person who has to live with a bad decision.

You pay once, you own it, and I keep working on it. That is the whole business model.

How I build

  • No Bolder Things app contains advertising or an analytics SDK.
  • PieDial Pro is a one-time purchase.
  • No Bolder Things app requires an account to use it.
  • Email sent to Bolder Things is read by a person, not a ticketing system.
